Mitsubishi

The Mitsubishi brand dates back to 1917. This is the year Japan’ first series produced model A was introduced. Over the next twenty years, Mitsubishi worked to establish their brand as an innovative one. One way Mitsubishi did so was the develop Japan’s first diesel engine, the first large sized bus, and the first four-wheel drive passenger vehicle of Japan.

After the end of the second World War, Mitsubishi was split into three different companies. The focus of the company shifted to primarily commercial vehicles due to their greater necessity at the time. In 1946, Mitsubishi released a bus that could be run or petrol or alternative fuels. The next year the company introduced an electric powered bus.

Mitsubishi saw a rise in production through the 1960’s. Family vehicles were a focus of the 1960’s. This is the decade that the Mitsubishi Colt, Galant and 500 were introduced. By the late 1970’s, Mitsubishi had received a number of awards and honors for their vehicles worldwide and for good reason. This brand has sustained through tough competition and still managed to come out on top. World Rally championships are no stranger to the Mitsubishi brand. Today, the Mitsubishi brand is available in over 170 countries.
